Stuck in a Bond: Can I Join Infosys as a Fresher Without a Relieving Letter?

I have been working in a company called XXX. They asked me to sign a 3-year bond by mentioning "design engineer" in the job description but have given absolutely no work for the last 8 months. When I asked for a change of team, the manager blackmails us with the bond and asks us to stay or leave by paying the bond.

I have been offered a position at Infosys as a fresher, and I see one of the documents saying a relieving letter from the past company is required if currently working. Is it necessary to produce a relieving letter for joining as a fresher? I'm thinking of quitting this company as it has become a continuous blackmailing situation for asking work related to my domain. I may not get a relieving letter as I'm not going to work for 3 years with this attitude in the company. Can anyone help with this issue?

In my opinion, it is not correct to hide information from a future employer. You should inform your future employer about your inability to produce a relieving letter that includes all the necessary facts. This is especially important if you are currently employed at a prestigious organization and have a PF UAN No. If you are a fresher, you won't have that number.

Once you join a new employer, they will likely attempt to generate a new UAN No. by linking it to your Aadhar card. If this process is rejected, you may be accused of withholding information from your employer, which could ultimately result in termination of employment.

Thank you.

At the time of joining, you should submit your previous employer's appointment letter and the last salary slip. Provide a written affidavit stating your inability to produce the relieving letter. If the letter is issued in the future, it will be submitted upon receipt. Additionally, please provide your PF UAN number.

Thank you.

I am stuck in the same situation. Were you able to join Infosys? How did you deal with not having a relieving letter?
