Minimum Wage Dilemma: Which Rates Apply to Our Transport Firm with 20+ Workers?

Kindly suggest which minimum wage rates are applicable to a private firm that is engaged in the transportation business and has more than 20 workers, including office staff. We are located in zone III.

As per Sec. 2(g) of the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961, a motor transport undertaking is an undertaking engaged in carrying passengers or goods or both by road for hire or reward and includes a private carrier. Motor transport undertakings are mostly brought under the schedule of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 by many State Governments, and minimum rates of wages are fixed and periodically revised for various employment positions therein. Therefore, please check with the Labour Department website of the Government of Maharashtra for the prevailing minimum rates of wages, if any applicable to your region.
