Gratuity Calculation Confusion: How to Handle Long-term Employees and Contract Workers?

Sanjib Chatterjee
Hi Seniors,

I have two queries on Gratuity Calculation.

The first one is, suppose an employee has been working continuously for 7 years but he hasn't worked 240 days in a year since joining the organization. How should the Gratuity for this employee be calculated?

My last query is, how to calculate Gratuity for contract manpower based on tonnage?

Thank you.

Dear Sanjib,

If an employee has worked continuously for 7 years in the system, then it does not matter if they have not worked for 240 days in a year. The calculation formula is the same for every gratuity calculation.

Thank you.
