Unpaid Work on Holidays and Sundays in Private Sector Banks
I've observed an interesting fact about one of the reputed private sector banks in the region. The employees are required to seek permission from their reporting managers for holidays or Sundays! They are expected to work on Sundays and holidays without any extra pay. While such practices are common in the private industry, this bank took it a step further when one of the business heads issued an official email to the entire region enforcing this policy rigorously. What's more, the Regional Head approved the decision, and it has been fully implemented!
Can an Organization Enforce Such Policies?
The question is: Can an organization do this? Can the employees receive justice?
