Navigating PT Registration for FMCD Companies: How to Handle Multiple States and Sales Teams?

Dear All,

Kindly suggest the rules for PT registration for FMCD company under the Shops & Establishment Act. We have our offices in 3 states, and in the rest of the states in the country, we only have our sales team and no offices. So, on what address should the PT be registered in the rest of the states? Additionally, for the states where PT is not applicable, is registration compulsory?

We have offices only in Mumbai, Delhi & Chennai; the rest of the states have only sales teams and no offices. Kindly guide for the rest of the states on what basis do we deduct the PT and where do we submit the same. Also, if for states with no PT applicable as per the rule, is registration required or any forms to be submitted regarding the said states.

Hi Bhavana,

Is the sales team working from home? If you don't have offices, then you can't obtain PT registration and S & E Registration. How are you processing salary for your sales team? If I am not wrong, you have shown your sales team in these 3 locations for processing the salary. If they are attached to these 3 locations, then deduct their PT as per that location's slab and remit the PT.
