Confused About My EPF Joining Date After Company Transfer – Which Date Should I Use?

I joined my first company on 02 May 1995 and was contributing to PF from the month I joined. Subsequently, the business was transferred to another company on 01 Nov 2002 through a transfer of business agreement along with the employees. My current PF account is from the new company formed on 01 November 2002. The accumulated PF amount from 1995 has been transferred to my current account.

Date of Joining (DOJ) Correction in EPF Records

My DOJ in EPF records is 01 March 2012 (how this entry was made is not clear). Now I want to correct it. What should be my DOJ? 02 May 1995 or 01 November 2002?

Ideally, it should be 01 November 2002 as the earlier account got merged (as per your version). Please check with your employer on the UAN and passbook updates for the necessary information as well.
