E-sign KYC Error: Is EPFO Upgrading Aadhar-Based E-sign and How Long Will It Take?

Hi Members,

When I am approving employees' pending KYC, it's not working, and an error is coming up: "E-sign KYC up-gradation is under process." Is there any maintenance or up-gradation work currently ongoing under EPFO regarding Aadhar-based E-sign? How long will that work be in progress? Please provide information.

The e-sign works for DSC holders only. If the mobile number used in the signatory's Aadhar and the portal differs, then such messages are frequent. Use the DSC in place of e-sign simply.

I have registered for e-sign on the EPFO portal. OTP was received. The message received was "You are registered for e-sign successfully." However, while approving the pending KYC, the message displayed is "e-sign KYC up-gradation is under process." Once OTP was accepted for registration, now where is the problem? Kindly help.

After submission of e-nomination online, upon approving with e-sign, I received a message stating "Error 1010: Error while registering eSign." Could you please suggest how I can resolve this error?

I am still struggling with the same problem. It seems EPFO is yet to fix the upgradation issues. Can anybody please help?

There seems to be a problem with the EPFO server. We filed 45 nominations and e-signed them. After that, an error message was received for the E-Sign registration. We tried at the EPFO Regional Office computer as well, but encountered the same problem. We have provided feedback to EPFO and are waiting for their reply. Surprisingly, I was able to sign one nomination where the VID was already registered!

After clicking on "esign," you will be redirected to a link where you need to add a virtual ID (in case you don't have one, generate it from the official site of Aadhar). After adding the virtual ID, click on the checkbox and submit. You need to add the virtual ID of the applicant (whose account is logged in), and then you will receive an OTP for esign. If you encounter an error, log in again and follow the same process. You may need to try multiple times.

I successfully completed the esign process on my 5th attempt.
