Dear Fraternity,
We are a garments exporter based in Tirupur. We are eligible for a special scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) where the employer contribution (12%) towards PF remittance for new joiners (who are newly employed on or after 01.04.2016) is provided by the Central government.
Currently (from Jul '18), we have started availing this benefit. However, this scheme has been in place since August 2016, covering all eligible new workers with retrospective effect from 01.04.2016. Unfortunately, we have not utilized this benefit thus far. We have been remitting the dues on time for that period without registering ourselves and new workers in the scheme. Due to our lack of awareness of this benefit, it is entirely our fault for neglecting it.
Now, as a corrective measure, we are exploring the possibilities of reclaiming the benefits for our management. We have approached the Regional PF office in Coimbatore, where we were directed to meet the PRO. The PRO mentioned that there is a low probability of retrieving the benefits as they do not have any control over the scheme. Moreover, as the scheme's name suggests, it falls under the jurisdiction of the Central government.
Could any of you guide us on possible ways and the appropriate authority we should approach to reclaim those benefits, please?
Thanks & Regards,
M. Harishkumar
