Career Dilemma: HR Role Change After Merger

I recently joined a start-up company as an HR recruiter and generalist. However, after one month, our boss merged our start-up group with a well-known publisher in the market, stating it would be a big opportunity for all of us. Before joining the merged organization, I was assured that my work profile would remain the same. Unfortunately, I am now only working as a recruiter, as all HR generalist tasks are being handled by the operations and accounts teams since they did not have any HR in the past.

Seeking Advice: Next Steps in My Career

What should I do now? The recruitment process is not continuous; it only occurs when someone leaves or a new position is created. Should I look for a new job or continue with this role? I have already discussed this with my boss, and he advised me to continue working on the positions I am currently handling. Please suggest what I should do now.

Continue working with sincerity and dedication.

Look around for a change of job. If adequate work is not there for your profile, then chances are the company may not keep the post at all, and suddenly you would need to find another job (just a thought).
