Understanding EDLI Eligibility and Pension for Dependents After a Loved One's Passing

My father joined a private company 1 year ago. P.F. amount was deducted for 1 year. Thereafter, he had to go on leave for 5 months. Unfortunately, he passed away during the said leave period. The company has not deducted PF amount for 5 months. They were saying that no work, no pay. Will my father be considered eligible for EDLI? How much monthly pension will the dependent get?
