Gratuity rules about Lic gratuity revision when salary is revised after resignation?

Anbu alagan
Sir, I worked in a Tamil newspaper from June 2002 to January 2013. My gratuity scheme is LIC Group Gratuity Scheme. I resigned from my job in January 2013 and received a LIC gratuity amount of Rs. 98,327 as per the Majithia Wage Board. The Honorable Supreme Court upheld the Majithia Wage Board award with monetary benefits effective from November 11, 2011.

My last drawn salary was revised as per the Majithia Wage Board, but the company refused to revise the gratuity. The company stated that LIC gratuity is a one-time payment, and revision is not applicable. However, according to the Gratuity Act calculation, we consider the last drawn salary from time to time. Could you please provide the rules regarding LIC gratuity revision when the salary is revised after resignation?

The best way to get correct information on this issue is to visit the Zonal head office of LIC on Anna Salai road and meet the concerned officials. Go with full details of the membership, scheme, etc. Since you are based in Chennai, there should be no issue in making a direct visit.
