Is My Employee Eligible for a Bonus After Working 30 Days in March? Seeking Advice

Hi, I am Bijender from Sentinels Security. As per the bonus policy, if an employee works for 30 days in a year, they are eligible to receive a bonus. I have a question regarding a specific case: in March 2017, the employee joined on 2nd March 2017 and worked until the last day of the month, which was 31st March 2017. By my calculation, he completed 30 days (26 + 4 = 30). Is he eligible to receive the bonus or not? Please provide your suggestions and advice.

Please note that 30 working days are required in a financial year, not pay days. Since he has been paid for 30 days but his actual working days are only 26, he does not qualify for payment of Bonus.

Yes, it is 30 working days in an accounting year. He is not eligible for a bonus as per the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965.

As per your posting, the workmen are not entitled to a bonus because the workmen did not complete 30 days of work during their work tenure.

The query is from a security agency where guards work for the whole month and are paid accordingly. If a guard has worked the entire month, including weekly offs, they are still not eligible for a bonus. Please kindly clarify the doubt. Why should a guard be deprived of a bonus if they work throughout the entire month?
