Is It Mandatory for IT Firms to Offer Privilege or Earned Leave? Seeking Clarity

suman shrivastav
Recently, I have joined an IT partnership firm in Gurgaon. It has its registered office in Delhi, but the corporate office is in Gurgaon. Currently, we are providing 8 CL and 12 SL to our employees for the calendar year, apart from all the National Holidays. Just need to confirm, is it mandatory to provide Privilege Leave or Earned Leave to Employees? Your early response would be highly appreciated.

Your office must have registered under the Shops and Establishment Act. Leave as applicable under the act to be provided.

Yes, EL/PL is required. You need to refer to the relevant provisions under the UP Shop and Establishment Rules and the Model Standing Orders that may apply.
