What is the valid resignation notice period - If I give hand over to new joinee?

Please tell me if am working as a purchase manager and recently resigned from my. Current company, i have two queries
1 What is the valid resignation notice period?? I provided them with a notice period of 15 days , is this valid .?
2 If I give hand over to new joinee will still be liable for any loss once I leave the company ??

Please share the notice period details mentioned in your letter

Notice period would be as per your appointment letter.
As far as liability towards purchases done as manager is concerned-you will be responsible for purchases done during during your time.
If you have followed company procedure and done due diligence no one can point any finger at you.
