Navigating Late PF Contributions: Can We Generate ECR for Past Months on EPFO?

Kindly guide me. I recently joined a startup company. They have been operating for 6 months. They have a provision for PF and deduct the amount monthly from employees' salaries. However, to date, they have neither generated any ECR nor submitted the amounts. They already have a PF account and are now prepared to submit the PF amount to respective employees' accounts with delayed payment charges. My queries are:

1) Is there an option to generate ECR for previous months on the EPFO website?

2) Since the ECR was not generated for the last 6 months, should we generate it separately for each month or can we consolidate 6 months of data in one ECR challan?

Hi Alike,

1. Yes, it is possible.
2. Consolation is not possible. You have to do it month-wise only.
3. The EPF portal (https://unifiedportal-emp.epfindia.gov.in/epfo/) will prompt you to make penalty payments at a later date.
