Group Insurance policy and act in IT based company

My son was expired in bengluru based company 2 years before. He serviced there 1.1 years. And was died by suicide attempt. We asked his employer to give details and settlement of employee insurance claim. But they decline for that.
I want to know, in suicide case family can ask claim on their son from employer or not.
