Confused About Establishment Codes for LLPs in India? Seeking Clarity on Salary Slip Access

stelluskurian
I work for a Retailer LLP in a shopping mall in Trivandrum. There are more than 20 employees on their payroll.

As I found it very difficult to understand my retailer-provided salary slip for the month of April 2018, I asked my HR to provide me with the Establishment code so that I could check my salary slip from WPS using the Establishment code and my employee code. In return, I was told by my HR that there is no such Establishment code for an LLP. Is this true? If not, is there any alternative way to get the Establishment code?

In India, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) do not have an Establishment Code like other entities such as companies or factories. The concept of an Establishment Code is typically associated with establishments covered under the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Since LLPs have a different legal structure, they do not fall under the purview of these specific codes.

However, to access your salary slip through the Wage Protection System (WPS), which is mandatory for organizations in certain regions like Kerala, you can use alternative identifiers instead of an Establishment Code. Here are the steps you can follow:

1. Contact your HR or payroll department to inquire about the specific process they follow for accessing salary slips or wage information for LLP employees.
2. Instead of an Establishment Code, you may need to use other details such as your Employee Code, Employee ID, or any unique identifier assigned to you by the organization.
3. Provide your HR with the necessary information to assist you in accessing your salary slip through the WPS or any other designated platform used by your organization for payroll processing.
4. Ensure that you have the correct login credentials or access permissions to view your salary details securely.

By following these steps and working closely with your HR team, you should be able to access your salary slip information without the need for an Establishment Code specific to LLPs.
