How many working hours is compulsory for the organization/company/office employees ?

Shops and establishment Act,Factories Act govern working hours.
So depending on State and act governing your work place,working hours will be determined.

Further to what Mr.Nathrao said, there s no minimum working hours stipulated but the maximum shall not exceed 48 hours in a week (but not more than 9 hours on any day)as per Shops Acts and Factories Act.So verify the respective Acts at your end.

It varies with the type of industry.
Overtime double pay comes into picture for manufacturing units.
