How Will New Consumer Protection Laws Tackle Substandard Goods in India?

M.Peer Mohamed Sardhar
The Food Safety Act and product liability clause in the Consumer Protection Act are going to be introduced for the protection from substandard goods and services.

The industrial revolution and the development in international trade and commerce have led to the vast expansion of business and trade. As a result, a variety of consumer goods have appeared in the market to cater to the needs of consumers. The evil of substandard goods illegally marketed in India is increasing day by day. The Indian government is feeling the need to protect consumers from substandard goods.

Dear,

Thank you for the update. I saw a recent post that the Chinese Authorities have taken action on their manufacturers of substandard goods. This is what the Chinese did to dispel the feeling that Chinese goods are substandard. This is yet another positive side of Globalization.
