How Can My Mother Claim My Late Father's EPF Pension? Seeking Guidance on Process and Timeline

rakesh-kumar1
Dear Sir,

I am Rakesh Kumar from Baijnath, Himachal Pradesh. My father passed away on 16-02-2018 due to renal failure. He was employed at CCI (Cement Corp. of India) and opted for VRS (Voluntary Retirement) in 2003.

About CCI

CCI stands for Cement Corporation of India Limited, a public-sector undertaking of the Government of India. The company was established as a wholly government-owned corporation on January 18, 1965, with the aim of establishing cement units in the public sector to support self-sufficiency in cement production in the country.

My father had been receiving an EPF pension since 2003. Following his demise, my mother is the rightful beneficiary of his pension fund. We have closed all his bank accounts, and we have yet to receive last month's pension.

Clarifications Needed

1) How can my mother claim the EPF pension?
2) To whom should we address the application to transfer the pension fund to my mother's account?
3) What documents need to be submitted along with the application letter?
4) Will we receive any arrears?
5) If all processes go smoothly, when can my mother expect to start receiving the pension? What is the expected timeline for receiving the pension?

Your guidance will be invaluable in this matter.

Regards,
Rakesh

Dear Mr. Rakesh,

Please approach the EPF Office from where your late father was drawing a pension together with the death certificate. Also, take documents related to your mother such as Aadhaar card, bank details, etc.

Thank you.
