With online systems introduced, Form 2, the declaration and nomination form, has become ineffective. The master data uploaded on the website to generate UAN will contain most of the details regarding the employee. Now, it is the employees who should input the name(s) of their nominees by logging into their member portal. If you have collected Form 2, that's fine; you may keep it in the personal file of the employee.
It is true that Form 2 has not been removed. Even Form 3, Form 5, Form 10, Form 5A (which is more important), Form 12, Form 6, etc., are still there in the Act, but practically they are not sent to EPF but are generated online. Once you give details in the e-nomination field, you will also get the same Form 2 only. However, this is not sent to the EPF Office. At any time, you can view and edit it.
