Balancing Employee Needs and Organizational Goals: How Does Indian Culture Influence HR Decisions?

Employee and Organization Needs

Employees need a monthly salary, yearly increment, promotion at least once every three years, and have to work until retirement.

Organizational Responsibilities

Organizations need to provide safety, meet production targets, improve quality, focus on marketing, and manage costs.

Aligning Employee Capabilities

Employee work capabilities should benefit the organization. Organizations have to ensure better employee performance by rewarding them.

HR's Role in Alignment

If the above analysis of employee and organization needs does not align, then the HR department should recruit and issue relieving letters.

Alas, the Indian culture of employees.

I don't agree with you. HR is a bridge between the employee and employer. For the role you mentioned, an SSC qualified/failed individual with a bit of general knowledge is sufficient. The challenge is to balance both ends, i.e., taking care of the interests of the organization and the employee is the role of HR. If sufficient profits are not there, the management may not be able to provide facilities to the employee; hence, HR needs to specifically work on enhancing productivity, thus increasing the bottom line (profits). Addressing employees' requirements presents challenges.

You might have seen very few organizations and concluded. There are organizations that extend stock options, foreign assignments, multiple roles, memberships, higher education facilities, home appliances, furnishings, vehicles, etc., a host of benefits subject to exceptional performance.

Nowadays, HR is integrated into the business, and some HR heads have taken charge as CEO/MD, etc.
