Can I Contribute More to My Provident Fund? Seeking Advice on Increasing Contributions

Prakharawasthi
Anyone, please solve my query. My question is: I am a private employee in an organization, and my basic salary is about 6200/-. My employer contributes 12 percent, and so do I. However, I want to contribute more than 12 percent. Is it possible for me to do so? If yes, then what is the procedure to do this?

The first ride up to the mandatory ceiling height of 15000/- VPF is the mutual consent of the employee and employer for equal contribution to the fund. In very rare cases, the employer moves ahead with VPF.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance or clarification.

It means if I am not getting 15,000 basic, then I am not eligible to contribute more than 12 percent.

Dear,

If the employer is not ready for VPF, go for PPF.

Dear Sunil Ji,

The employer will be ready for it, but I want to know only if my basic is low, can I contribute more or not? Is there any minimum basic salary limit for contribution in VPF?

If the employer is ready, then ask him to contribute on the gross salary in place of basic. That would resolve the problem. For a single person, VPF is a burden to the HR department. In this case, the EDLI and admin charges (a/c 21) have to be recovered from the employee on the VPF amount, and for this purpose, registers have to be maintained additionally.
