Do Forklift Operators Need a Special License Beyond an LMV in Chennai? Seeking Advice

Dear Seniors,

I am Vejay from Chennai. We are using forklifts in our company for material loading and unloading. Our drivers only drive the forklifts, and they have a driving license for Batch with LMV. Is this license sufficient, or do they need a separate driving license to operate the forklift?

Kindly clarify.

Dear Mr. Vejayakumar,

Based on the forklift tonnage, the license has to change. For example, if we are using a two-ton forklift, an LMV license is sufficient, but for a four-ton forklift, an HMV license is required, specifically for forklift operation.
