PF Inspection Records: How Far Back Should We Keep Them and What’s Required?

Dear senior,

Could you please share the circular/notification regarding the PF inspection? Can the enforcement officer ask for old records prior to five years? Is it mandatory to keep old records? If yes, then how old?

The Limitation Act does not apply to EPF & ESI. You are required to produce the records for the period mentioned in the Inspection Notice. You are required to maintain records until the inspection is completed.
