Can Contract Workers in Factories Use Mediclaim Instead of ESIC for Year-Long Gate Passes?

We have a procedure that any contract workman working in the factory should be covered by ESIC. Every month, they renew their gate pass through the time office after the verification of the ESIC deposited receipt. It takes one or two days to complete the work, resulting in a loss of manpower that we are suffering. My factory is in Uttar Pradesh.

Can we include them in a mediclaim policy so that the gate pass is valid for a year? Is this legal? What documents are needed for this according to factory law?

Yes, you can cover them under a mediclaim policy if their salary is over and above ₹21,000. If not, then they should be covered under ESIC only.
