Hi,

I am working in a manufacturing company in the Human Resources department. We are hiring a senior salesperson on a three-month contract, but I am confused about offering the right designation. Can anyone help?

Hi Mr. Harjeet Singh,

You can appoint him as a Consultant. It will be a purely agreement for a period of three months, clearly mentioning the duration. Please specify that the Agreement stands cancelled at the end of the period. Also, mention that he needs to submit a monthly invoice and that taxes, if applicable, will be deducted. Additionally, mention whether any leaves availed will or will not be deducted.

Title is actually misleading. Senior Sales Consultant is a good designation for this short period. Job agreement can include terms and conditions and specific jobs to be done/advised upon. Start period and end period need to be clearly written. Consulting fees, leave applicable, timings of workplace, and work need to be made clear. Exit formalities need to be specified.
