Background Check Worries: How to Handle Verification When Your Old Company Is Closed?

I have joined WNS on 30th Jan 2018. I am waiting for my background verification to be completed. Previously, I worked at IBO Pvt Ltd, which is now completely shut down. I referred them to our HR's number. Our company was a start-up, so we did not have office IDs. Our HR received a call for BGV and sent a few documents to them, providing all the necessary details.

Next Steps in Background Verification

What will be the next procedure they will follow? The company is closed, and the office premises were rented. Will they visit our office? I am concerned because there is no one available to assist them there.

It is not your responsibility if the company where you had been working had shut down. You have absolutely nothing to worry. It is surprising that a Background Verification company can give you negative remarks for this. However, this is a shocking reality as in these days of Aadhar compliances for everything; certain BV companies are scamming the hiring companies in getting money for such formalities and harassing individuals.
