Navigating Layoffs: How to Draft a Legally Sound Termination Letter for Poor Performance

As my company is in the process of headcount reduction (10-12 people out of 200), the management wants to issue a letter of immediate relief to those affected based on unsatisfactory performance. The employees will receive three months' salary as per the termination clause in their appointment letters. Could someone please provide me with a suitable template for this letter (legally vetted)?

How were the non-performers identified? Were they given warnings? Termination should be done only by following principles of natural justice.

When it is said that the services are terminated for inadequate/non-performance, it means it is a punitive termination, and the requirements of the law have to be fulfilled as pointed out by Nathrao Sir.

However, if you are terminating for inadequate workload, you can issue a termination simpliciter stating that the services are no longer required with effect from a suitable date and attach the cheque for the notice period.
