1) I am looking for a job change from my current employer.
2) I have not found any other employer offering a package that matches my current one.
3) I am not open to relocating.

Dear Jmir, the reasons mentioned by you appear to me not as reasons but only as incompatible conditions or personal choices contradictory to each other. If you are seriously considering leaving your present employer, you should not impose the other two conditions. If no other employer in the same locality can offer you the same, if not better package, it is not wise to leave your present employer. If you are not interested in relocation, there is no point in expecting either a better package or growth option with respect to your present profile.

Observations on Stenographers' Career Growth

My observation of many stenographers transitioning to officer-oriented job positions like Judicial Officers, and my own experience as a Conciliation/Quasi-Judicial officer for many years effectively assisted by stenographers, compel me to commend stenographers as highly intelligent and smart individuals among the ministerial staff. Their opportunity to closely work with several bosses over a period of time enables them to be effective listeners, analysts, and experts in legal and departmental matters. Your growth options depend mostly on whom you worked under as a Steno/Secretary/Assistant. Here, I am not referring to individual officers but to their positions - administrative or judicial, and the like.

Anyway, in your excess of enthusiasm, do not forget the following two adages: 1) A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. 2) You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
