B.E graduation a waste - if i get into HR field?

I've done my B.E in Computer Science n working as a technology developer in a reputed MNC....Im planning to do my Executive MBA in HR....
Iv head from many people that my B.E graduation would turn into a waste if i get into HR field as any basic graduates like BSC , BCom , BA can get into this easily n do it....An engineer would waste his/her engineering skills if u get into HR...Is this true ???? Please clarify this to me n suggest me if i need to change my mind abt doing HRM...N also suggest me to which field i need to get into in management to flourish well...

It all depend on your likes / dislikes of your carrer / work which field of MBA to choose. MBA HR will always be good , since in any field you go you have to deal with people. HR is about human relations. Even if you remain in your same field for higher post MBA HR is always useful. Like if you want to make a carrer in HR then also MBA is added advantage.
So basically u need to identify what type of work u enjoy doing.

it wont go waste , take my case i did BE mech then i did mba hr and now iam in hr of a construction company handling training and devlopment , performance management system.
u need to sync ur hr and the industry ur engg demands.....u'll flourish

HR field is open for any person who has good understanding of people. It is nothing but peoples management. To study behaviour pattern, training, industrial relations, wages and salary admin, liasoning all will shape a person as a true HR Manager.
Your engineering skills can be a best input for the following area of HR
1. Training and development in skills of Production, quality, maintenance
2. Time and motion study to fix wages, incentive, compensation
3. Job description
4. Purchase and stores management.
Education does not go waste, unless we implement truely in our day to day working life.

Hi Friend,
As you said, you have completed your BE (CS) and you have been working for an MNC. Why you have change your decision to do MBA-HR? is there any plan to change your career in HR?
If you want to do MBA for your knowledge, go ahead with MBA - systems?
See, don't waste your career , you have invest lot on your BE studies ( time and money). don't confuse , stick on one field and get shine to grow.

I did my B.Tech in ME. But then my passion was always HR. Now your BE would not go waste if you apply in the right industry.

it wont go waste , I too finished my Btech IT and worked a s programmer for 1 year and finished MBA HR and working as a HR Executive in an Software concern now.....So it wont be waste u need to relate both...Now its easy for me to survive in HR field that too mainly in recruitment and Employee relations.... becoz i know what the s/w people in need

Even myself BE (CS) with MBA(HR).
Engineering is very much helpful for MBA student to know and understand all the technical aspects in a better way.No doubt work exerience help a lot in MBA but MBA for an Engineer means a better,suitable and stable job.
