Struggling with EPF Portal: How to Fix Name Mismatch and Access Issues?

Employee Name Discrepancy with PF Records and Aadhar

1. The employee's name differs from the PF records and Aadhar.

2. She (the employee) has forgotten her password to open the PF member portal and submit an online request for correction.

3. She has also lost her registered mobile SIM card.

4. The employer tried to help her but could not as it is asking for the Aadhar Number.

5. When he enters the Aadhar number, the remark shows a mismatch.

6. Until last month, we could get a new password and submit an online request for a change without being asked for the Aadhar Number.

7. Fed up with the never-ending story of problems with the EPF portal.

8. Requesting guidance or suggestions, please.

Process for Updating PF Details

A request to the PF office has to be submitted for these changes, and they will provide an acknowledgment. However, the problem does not end here. There is an option to change your mobile number, but it will require you to link employee details to your Aadhaar or PAN card. Additionally, the name on the PF account and the mobile number must match; otherwise, the problem persists.

Linking Aadhaar to a New Mobile Number

I believe that in the first case, the Aadhaar must be linked to your new mobile number and then to the PF account. To link Aadhaar to a new mobile number, you should have either the old mobile number or a personal email address linked to your Aadhaar to receive the OTP. If both are missing, you have no choice but to visit an Aadhaar center to update the new mobile number there.

I hope I could shed some light on the issue.

Hi, there is an issue that the EPFO portal has stored the employees' names as [Last-First name]. In this case, he also has to send the name change joint correction form. (Aadhaar is already verified)
