Ex-Servicemen Health Scheme: Will My ECHS Contribution Be Affected by a Private Job?

shyamlal160867@gmail.com
Sir, I am a lifetime member of ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme). If I take up a private job somewhere, will my ECHS contribution be deducted or not? Please advise on the rules.

Coverage of Ex-Servicemen Under the ESI Act

1. Sir, if an ex-serviceman (retired from defense forces) joins any insurable employment as defined under the ESI Act, 1948, and the rules/regulations framed thereunder, then he/she will be coverable. Contribution is required to be paid and payable under the above Act. He/she will naturally be entitled to all benefits as defined under the above law based on his entitlement.

2. There are no rules/regulations or any exemption specifically in respect of the above category of persons. He/she will be an "employee" or "insured person" if working in a covered unit and receiving wages within the coverable limit as laid down under the above law.
