Unprofessional Behavior in the Workplace

I have observed that some people behave in an unprofessional manner when they join a company. For example, if an employee is not feeling well, he doesn't even send a text message to his superior to inform them that he can't come to the office because he is sick. I can understand if the employee's condition is critical, making it impossible to call his superior, but his family members can always contact his boss. In this age of technology, not communicating with your superior is unacceptable. I have also heard excuses like "I didn't have the company's number" or "I didn't have my boss's number."

Lack of Communication When Not Joining

Many people receive an offer letter but do not join, and they lack the courtesy to inform the company why they are not ready to join. Furthermore, some people abscond when they could easily communicate with their superior that they do not want to work.

The Importance of Professionalism

What I am trying to say is that we often blame companies for being unprofessional and not following proper legal procedures, but are all employees themselves professional? They need to think about it. If you are professional, you will not encounter any problems when you join any organization and when you leave it.

There will always be people and employees displaying extremes of courteous and discourteous behavior. It is not possible to correct everybody and bring them all in one straight line. However, having proper rules and regulations, uniformly adhering to them, and taking corrective action where required would enable us to live with tolerable behavior. There is a famous prayer: "Oh God, please help me to distinguish between what I can change and what I have to learn to adjust."
