Experience Certificate Dilemma: How to Reflect Maternity Leave in Total Work Duration?

appleboycat
A female employee has been with us for about 15 months, during which she was on PTO for 12 months due to her maternity leave. How should we go about preparing her experience certificate?

Her total experience with us is 15 months, though she was on PTO for 12 of those months. Should we issue her certificate reflecting the full 15 months of experience?

Experience certificates hold the information of the start date and leaving date of employees. Maternity leave or any entitled leave benefits cannot be discounted from an employee's length of service. The employee is availing the maternity benefit because she is still an employee of your company. Hence, you can provide the experience certificate from the date she started to work till her last working day.

If other senior colleagues here handled this situation differently, please share your thoughts.
