Confused About Leave Eligibility? Let's Break Down PL, CL, and SL Calculations Together

Mona Chaudhari
Hi, can anyone explain to me the calculation of PL/CL and SL? I am especially confused about the eligibility of the leave. Please explain the meaning of the below-mentioned paragraph. Alternatively, can I get the number of any HR?

Leave Eligibility Calculation

Every employee who has worked for not less than 3 months in a year shall be eligible for 5 days of leave for every 60 days worked. For those who have worked for not less than 240 days, it is 1 day for every 21 days worked. Days on which the establishment remains closed, public holidays should be counted as working days for the purpose of calculating working days.

Thank you.

If your establishment is a factory, then you are entitled to 1 day off for every 20 days worked. This entitlement applies after you have worked 240 days in the previous year. Similarly, refer to the Shops and Establishment Act of the concerned state for information on PL (Privilege Leave) and Casual Leave.

For information on Casual Leave calculations, you can search the Citehr archives using the following link: https://www.citehr.com/316665-calculation-pl-sl-cl.html
