There is no "Tax" in the ESI Act of 1948. On the contrary, there are Employee Contributions and Employer Contributions.

Hello Dear,

In ESIC, washing allowances are exempted from the definition of wages.

In detail: if the uniform is used during working hours, then washing allowances are exempted in wages. If no uniform is worn, then washing allowances are not exempted.
