Struggling with Aadhar and PF Portal Issues? How Can We Improve Claim Settlements?

Challenges with Aadhar Card and PF Portal

Under the Contract Labour (Regulations and Abolitions) Act, the contractor engages workmen for the client's requirements. During recruitment, the contractor collects the Aadhar card. Sometimes, when deployed, some workmen fail to produce the Aadhar card and instead present only another ID card (such as a driving licence). The PF portal does not accept other ID cards, leading to the inability to deduct PF.

Issues with Date of Birth on Aadhar Cards

In cases where workmen have Aadhar cards, sometimes the date of birth column only shows the year of birth, and the Aadhar portal lacks an edit option for rectifying PF details. Additionally, discrepancies in the date of birth may arise between the original PF records, typically based on school certificates, and the Aadhar card. During settlement claims, some individuals are unable to provide the original certificate, and only with the Aadhar document, their PF claims cannot be settled.

Suggestions for Improvement

I believe that the Provident Fund Authorities should consider incorporating edit options in the portal to facilitate smoother claim settlements or enable employees to opt out of PF coverage. Can anyone suggest a method to address this issue effectively?

Aadhar is a mandatory document for all Indian citizens, especially those who are enrolled under government benefit schemes. EDLI and EPS schemes of EPF are government funded, so they ask for Aadhar at the time of enrollment.
