As employees of an organization, they insist on opting for PF & ESI, and my salary limitations will allow it too. How can I get out of their insistence? Can you please provide the basic pay required to be exempted from these two deductions?
The PF wage ceiling is currently Rs. 15,000/-, while for ESI, it is Rs. 21,000/- per month. If the basic pay plus DA is above the said ceiling, then the employee can opt-out, subject to the condition that the employee was not a member of PF earlier.
