Forms and Registers: Should You Keep Them in Hardcopy or Softcopy? Seeking Advice!

Can anyone share with me how to maintain the forms and registers? Is it better to keep them in hardcopy or softcopy?

We have to maintain hard copy only.

Dear Friend,

You can maintain a soft copy as well. Whenever you need it, please request to print and show it to the respective person, auditor, labor officer for inspection, or others.

In most states, there is a provision for applications to the department to allow maintaining records in electronic form. Electronic form does not mean Excel files but inside a software with records in a manner that it cannot be tampered with.

In all other cases, the records are to be maintained in registers.

You can maintain the shop and establishment registers in soft copy and print them if the auditor asks for the same.
