Returning to My Old Job: Will I Face a New Probation Period or Be Permanent?

Juli Singhal
Hi,

I started working with a consulting firm in January 2016 and left in June 2017 due to some health issues. My company cleared all my dues, and I am done with my Full and Final settlement.

After 5 months, in November, I rejoined the same company. My question is, in this case, will I be eligible for a probation period, or will I be considered a permanent employee? Please suggest.

You say you joined back again. What does your offer letter say? Does it speak of probation or a permanent job straightaway?

It depends on the company's policy. If they treat you as a fresh employee and the policy is to keep a new employee on probation, then they may keep you on probation. As Nathrao asked, what does their letter of appointment say? It will give you the clue.

Dear Friend,

The condition of "probation" for your rejoining depends on your management. The probation period is fixed to judge the performance and how the probationer accustoms to new working conditions and surroundings.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance or clarification.
