Dear All,

Please find attached a PowerPoint presentation on Fish Philosophy and Fish Sticks. I would recommend everyone to read the book "Fish Philosophy" by Stephen Lundin. It's a great book on motivation, customer service, personal development, and creativity.

Thanks & Regards,

More on Fish Philosophy

In the world of business, the Fish Philosophy is a concept that emphasizes bringing energy, passion, and a positive attitude to the workplace. It encourages employees to be present, engaged, and to make the most out of every situation. The four key principles of the Fish Philosophy are "Choose Your Attitude," "Play," "Make Their Day," and "Be Present."

"Choose Your Attitude" highlights the importance of taking responsibility for one's own attitude and outlook in any given circumstance. It encourages individuals to approach challenges with a positive mindset and to choose optimism over negativity.

"Play" reminds employees to inject fun and creativity into their work. By incorporating elements of playfulness and enjoyment, individuals can increase their productivity and overall satisfaction with their tasks.

"Make Their Day" focuses on creating positive and meaningful experiences for others, whether they are coworkers, clients, or customers. By going the extra mile to make someone else's day better, individuals can foster strong relationships and a supportive work environment.

"Be Present" stresses the significance of being fully engaged and attentive in the moment. By practicing mindfulness and focusing on the task at hand, employees can enhance their performance and contribute more effectively to their teams.

Overall, the Fish Philosophy serves as a valuable framework for promoting a collaborative, vibrant, and fulfilling workplace culture. By embracing these principles, organizations can cultivate a positive environment that nurtures creativity, teamwork, and individual growth.

Hi Asad,

I have heard in my country about the "Fishbone technique on separation payment." Can you or anyone else tell me about this? I am trying to understand that terminology.

Hi BSN,

Well, bro, I know the basics of a Bone Diagram. This diagram is used as a problem-solving technique. It can also be used as a brainstorming tool and as a tool in handling daily issues. Additionally, it can be used as a goal-setting tool. It clearly identifies what problems exist and how to overcome them.

Thanks

Hi,

As far as my knowledge goes, it is a fishbone diagram. It is a technique used for problem-solving, and it is the same in any country.

Hi IAMCALLEDSAD,

Why do you want to teach everybody to be active and lively? I couldn't understand it. Oh, I got it, preaching is easier than practicing... ha ha ha, kidding. It was useful. Thanks for the fabulous PowerPoint presentation.

Majestuoso :)

Hi Asad,

I read the 4 books of Fish! once again 2-3 days back and was just thinking about how to make the presentation/training sessions on the same. Today I opened my citehr and here I am! Thanks, they are really nice. Just wondering whether there will be any copyright issues if we use them?

Also, when you have time, go through the website of "Give them the pickle!" - it's a great tool as well for customer service.

Hi,

The Fish philosophy definitely highlights what most organizations lack today. While it is easy to see how this organization can make it happen, the challenge to most of us is - how do you transfer that philosophy to your workplace and make the staff see the benefits and be willing to change given the underlying culture that the organization is experiencing right now. The secret to it is if we can overcome the cultural barrier to implant the philosophy without the usual resistance to change mentality.

I have a training needs assessment exercise on Tuesday, and my topic for the same is the fishbone technique. Can any of you guide me on how I can demonstrate this technique in class and how I can prepare an exercise based on it?

Friends, it's really urgent. Can you help?

Dear All,

I truly agree with what Asad mentioned about the book called "Fish Philosophy" by Stephen Lundin. It is a good book to read as it not only inspires you but also encourages you to cultivate the same environment around you. I have been conducting training on this for the past couple of years, and in every session, there is a new discovery.

Hi Asad,

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on Fish. I'm sure this is the kind of change that will make the workplace, where we spend more than 60% of our time, a good place to live in :)

Jaya
