Dear Mr. Umesh, after reviewing your attachment, here are my observations:

1. Typographical Error
- On the first page, "Policies" is spelled as "Politics."

2. Probation & Confirmation
- If the maximum probation period is 6 months, services should either be confirmed in writing or terminated. This clause should also be included in the appointment letter.

3. Prevention of Sexual/Mental Harassment
- Ensure the prevention of sexual harassment of women employees at the workplace.

4. Transfer
- This should be included in the appointment letter as well.

5. Standing Orders
- There is no mention of standing orders or certified standing orders.

6. Safety & Health Policy
- There is no mention of a safety and health policy.

7. Maternity Leave
- This should be updated as per recent amendments.

8. Short Leaves
- Employees are eligible for a short leave of 2 hours twice a month for any exigency. They are permitted to avail of a 2-hour permission (out pass) twice a month with pay for exigencies.

9. Public Holidays
- These should conform to the applicable National & Festival Holidays Act & Rules.

10. Dress Code
- Mention details about footwear, uniforms, etc.

11. Provident Fund (PF)
- Remove the mention that the employee can be exempted from PF by submitting Form 11 to the HR department.

12. Salary Payment
- Remove the statement "Salary is paid by CASH."

13. Retirement Age
- The retirement age for employees is 58 years, and this should be mentioned in the appointment letter as well.

14. Nomination Facility
- For married employees: spouse & children; for unmarried employees: parents.

15. Bonus
- As per The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 & Rules, 1975, remove the mention of a maximum bonus of Rs 25,000/-.

Thank you.

I heard that a standing order is typically established for factories and large stores, while an Employee Handbook is commonly used in small stores and shops. What is the main difference between a standing order and an Employee Handbook?
