If employees received an e-Pehchan card with many mistakes in their name, DOB/age, relationship, and gender for themselves and their family, how may they or their employer correct the IP details (name, DOB/age, relationship, and gender) on the e-Pehchan card under ESIC? What is the procedure for the same?

If there are errors on the card, will it affect the ESI benefits while hospitalization for the whole family, including the employee?

Dear Thirumurugan,

IP details have to be entered in the ESI Portal by following the due procedure and application of mind. If you have noticed any errors, please contact your ESI Local Office in writing, providing them with the correct information in comparison to the wrong information. Kindly address this matter on a priority basis.

It will affect the same, especially for the IP/employee. So, get it corrected.

To link the Aadhaar of self and family members, visit the local ESIC office with E-Pahchan and Aadhaar cards of all members. The staff at the office will assist in rectifying any errors according to the Aadhaar data after biometric verification.

If the particulars like name, DOB, gender, etc., of the IP and his/her family need to be edited, your employers can do so in the ESIC portal by updating the IP details.

Dear Anamika,

I presume you are an insured person. Please contact your employer and inform him about wrong data, such as gender, etc. Your employer will log in to his account and make the necessary changes.

If the particulars like Date of Birth (DOB), gender, etc., of the insured person (IP) and his/her family need to be edited, your employer can update the IP details. However, the updated name should be submitted to the local ESIC office authority.
