Feeling Underpaid and Unfairly Treated During Probation: How Can I Protect My Career?

Mr. Puri
Disparity and Unfair Activities in the Organization

I would like to discuss the recent disparity and unfair activities happening in our organization. Since December 2016, I have been working in the Accounts department as an Accounts Executive with a CTC of Rs. 18,000 (in hand Rs. 15,472). After the management assessed my current profile, they have only provided an increment of Rs. 500.

Concerns and Queries

1. Why are they not providing me with a basic salary according to the ESI Act (gazette notification of January 2017)?
2. As I am currently in the probation period, am I eligible for a departmental transfer from the Accounts department to the Examination department during this period? (Please elaborate as per Labour Law).
3. I feel like a victim of salary disparity and unfairness by the management. Could you please suggest some necessary actions to safeguard my career in terms of growth and salary?

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Puri, which ESI Act are you referring to? Why are they not providing me with a basic salary according to the ESI Act (gazette notification Jan 2017)? Please be careful and apply your mind while posting such things.

Probation Period Clarification

What do you mean by "As I am pursuing the probation period"? Are you a probationer? How do you consider yourself eligible for the "Examination Dept"? Please contact your employer regarding transfer. In this particular case, labor laws have no role to play.

Focus on Current Role

Please focus on your present job, acquire knowledge, and contribute to the growth of the organization. Have patience. Focus on getting your service confirmed by successfully completing the probation period. Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. Overcome your weaknesses.
