As per the EPFO circular dated 1st December 2017, the EPFO has stated that establishments granted exemption or relaxation under the Employees' Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, or the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952, are now directed to file their monthly and annual returns online in the prescribed proforma by the 25th of the month, instead of the 15th of the month previously, following the month to which it relates.

Further, establishments that have been granted exemption from the Regional PF Commissioner for individual employees shall also file their monthly and annual returns in the prescribed proforma online. It has also been clarified that the phrase "25th of the month following that to which it relates" means that the online returns for the wage month should be filed by the 25th of the month following the wage month.
