Struggling Without a Salary Slip: How to Handle Missing Documentation in Job Interviews

Hasim Khan
Hi Expert, I am working for a company based in New Delhi. I receive an in-hand salary of Rs 18,300 (INR) monthly. I understand that it is a mandatory and statutory requirement for every organization to issue a salary slip to employees. However, the Director-HR of the company is not issuing any salary slips to us. Whenever I try to contact him, he says the salary will be directly credited to our bank accounts. When I ask for salary bifurcation, he mentions that it's a consolidated salary.

Please suggest what to do. I am facing a lot of problems during interviews because I can't produce a salary slip, and I do not want to present fabricated salary slips to other HR departments. They pay me the salary without any deductions (ESI/PF). Please post your valuable suggestions.

I hope they have given you an offer of appointment. Coupled with the offer and bank statement, you can prove your employment credentials. Some other communication addressed to you also could help.

As regards organizational ethics, they are going to be in trouble sooner or later. There is definitely an ESI Act violation, and the PF Act needs more details. If you bring this fact to the local Labour Inspector, he could pursue the matter and bring justice.
