Can PF Authorities Charge Penalties on Arrears Paid After a Court Order?

I have a query, kindly clarify please. Our company entered into a long-term settlement. The workmen raised a dispute before the court claiming some arrears. The court ordered to pay Rs 400/- per month from the date of settlement.

After the court order, if the company pays the arrears, can the PF authorities demand late payment penalties, damages, and interest from the date of settlement on the arrears paid or not?

They cannot demand late payment fees for the arrears payment. However, you need to mention the court order for back wages passed retrospectively.
