Maternity benefits - form no 10 signature - after the leave taken or before?

Sir, my name is balasaraswathy. After my pregnancy, I gone to my local branch office they gave form no 10 to require sign from my employer. After that I gone to my office and ask him for sign the form. But he says, this form have to sign after when u rejoining the company. I want the clear details about the form. It is sign after the leave taken or before. I need ur help

Dear Balasaraswathy, Presuming that you are talking about form no. 10 of ESI Act, the position is that the same has to be got certified by your employer after you have rejoined duty, as the absent days has to be certified by the employer in the format given in the Form 10 itself.
