Every wednesday, Times of India brings out a supplement, a pull out, called Ascent ... Have you ever read ? If you are reading avidly, such contemporary magazines, which will be several notches above your text book / curriculum, you will be able to zero in on the topic you are looking for. Niche topics keep changing. What was niche three years ago, may be not relevant now. Even if I suggest now some topics, it may be out of context, a few months down the line. Still, a few topics which come to my mind relate to Transformational HR instead of Transactional HR.... HR as a business partner, HR for the digital age, HR for Startups, HR's role in IT companies, where jobs are uncertain. Project guy to Bench with a Pink Slip ! These things come to my end spontaneously. Read HR Ascent and you may get some more ideas. Eminent HR people write articles there ... Read and update yourself. Best wishes
